Upcoming Speaking/Preaching Engagements

Summer, 2010: 14-week On-line Course on Franciscan Spirituality: This course introduces students to the spiritual tradition of St. Francis and St. Clare and explores how this tradition has evolved from the Middle Ages to today. Special attention will be given to the spirituality and devotional practices associated with the Franciscan movement at large including the followers of Francis and Clare and the lay people who affiliated with the orders.  Through readings, movie clips, and art we will explore the following themes in Franciscan spirituality in both theory and practice: embracing creation, embodied prayer, preaching through one’s life, and the mutuality of respect and authority.
